Add-2 has more of a classic emcee style, mixing poet-like wordplay with intelligent metaphors and he displays it in Tale of Two’s City Volume 3. For instance, a song like “Nicole Brown Simpson” where you have to really listen to the meaning behind why the song is appropriately titled that, really makes Add-2 stand out. Other songs like “Superman”, where he talks about saving the state of hip-hop from where it is now. Add even spits off of Nas’ Honeymoon is Over beat which pays homage to Esco. “Relax, Relate, Release” sounds has a Tribe Called Quest kind of feel to it as Add-2 speaks to a lady. Add-2 displays a style to me that resembles artists such as Common, Lupe Fiasco and Little Brother which is what makes this mixtape hot for people who enjoy hip-hop. I am a real tough critic when it comes to artists today and how the game is different but not too many complaints from me with this mixtape. From top to bottom, Tale of Two’s City Volume 3 is consistent with precise punchlines that really digs deep into the root of hip-hop. I could personally go through the symbolism and details of each song but I’m leaving it up to you to download the mixtape and prepare to enjoy real hip-hop! Ed Johnson Download Mediafire
